Mar 11 (Bernama) Demand for tourist accommodation is on the rise in Sri Lanka as the number of tourists arrivals on the island surges, offering greater opportunities in the construction of tourism-related sectors. A total of 231 tourist hotels were in operation in December 2003 with 13,858 rooms that could only cater to about 700,000 visitors a year.
