UNP says govt. hiding truth on north offensives

Sep 9 (LD) Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickremanayake says 155 military personnel were killed and 983 others wounded in terrorist attacks during August this year. A Farewell to an Officer and a Gentleman: Colonel H.H. Lawrence De Silva

Heavy losses in Sri Lanka clash

Sep 10 (BBC) Sri Lanka's military says 12 soldiers and a policemen have been killed during a Tamil Tiger attack on a base in the northern area of Vavuniya.
