Rains cause havoc, 28,000 families affected

Dec 10 (Island) Heavy rains have caused considerable damage to private property in many parts of the country, including the Jaffna, Mannar, Killinochchi and Mullaithivu districts. Welgama to increase current CTB fleet to 7000

Dec 11 (Island) Transport Minister Kumara Welgama said that he would increase the current CTB fleet of 5,300 buses to 7,000 and compete with 18,000 private buses in passenger transport services.
