Minister defends prison raid |
Nov 15 (CT) The search operation carried out in two wards at the Welikada Prison, prior to last Friday’s riot, had uncovered 41 mobile phones, 22 SIM cards, Rs 2,140 in cash and over 18 grams of dangerous drugs. Minister Chandrasiri Gajadheera, announcing the find in Parliament yesterday, said possessing two grams of heroin makes a person liable to face the death penalty.
