Sri Lanka Jan-Feb tea export earnings fall |
Mar 26 (EN) Sri Lanka's tea exports grew in volume in the first two months of 2015 but earnings fell, especially for tea bags where margins are better. Tea exports in February grew by 1.2 million kilos to 23.5 million kilos from the same month in 2014. But in value terms however total February revenue fell by 800,000 rupees to 14.3 billion rupees from a year ago, Tea Brokers said. Jasintkan Kunaskarem, of Morden in Surrey, was brought before Somerset Magistrates in custody after being arrested by police.
