Mishaps kill 927 on pedestrian crossings

Mar 19 (Island) National Council for Road Safety (NCRS) said that 927 people had been killed on pedestrian crossings during the last ten years in Sri Lanka. Spokesman for the NCRS, said accordingly one person had been killed every five days on a pedestrian crossing. 15% interest rate for some senior citizens

Mar 20 (ST) Senior citizens, already getting 15% interest on a deposit of Rs.1 million under the scheme announced in the interim budget 2015, can renew these 1-year deposits at the same rate when it expires, bankers said.
