Sri Lanka plans to phase out the gas-powered vehicles

Minister instructs CEB to resolve issue

Rajitha to net 30,000 quacks
Dec 16 (Island) Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne yesterday said that there were around 30,000 quacks practising medicine in the country. Dr. Senaratne said that the ministry has received information of such bogus doctors operating dispensaries and treatment centers countrywide and that he sought the assistance of the Police to nab the illegal practitioners. Official reserves drop to US$ 7.3bn in Nov
Dec 16 (LBO) Sri Lanka’s official reserves have dropped to US$ 7,319.40 million in November from US$ 7,489.98 million in October. Beware, your coconut oil is probably contaminated
Dec 16 (ST) Adulteration of coconut oil is widespread in the country today. Coconut Research Institute (CRI) Chairman Jayantha Jayewardene said the reason behind the adulteration of coconut oil was the shortfall in production which resulted in the inability to meet local demand.
