WFP Rs. 53 million supports for fortified rice blending facility

Mar 31 (Island) Minister P. Harrison and the Resources Department yesterday opened a fortified rice blending facility in Tambuteegama, Anuradhapura. The facility was established by the National Food Promotion Board (NFPB) with Rs. 53 million (USD 300,000) of funding and technical assistance from the UN World Food Program. Mar 31 (ST) Going up in smoke tomorrow will be 769kg of cocaine — a stock that was kept as court case evidence and released after a lengthily legal process. Dimuth Karunaratne arrested over drink driving after injuring a motorist

Mar 31 (CI) Dimuth Karunaratne, Sri Lanka's Test captain, was arrested for drink driving in Colombo on Sunday morning after he was involved in an accident that put the driver of a three-wheeler in hospital. According to police, the injured driver has sustained only minor injuries.
