Aug 29 (AD) Sri Lanka Police says that more than 95% of the investigation activities into the recent killing of two persons including businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as Club Wasantha, have been completed thus far. Sri Lanka expects US$1.36bn from IMF, IFIs for 2025 budget, $3.65bn debt relief
Aug 29 (EN) Sri Lanka is expecting 1,363 million US dollars under an IMF program which is also backed by the Asian Development Bank in 2025, Minister Bandula Gunawardana said. From the IMF 663 million dollars is expected, he said at a post cabinet briefing Tuesday. Typically there are two reviews in each year under the program. Another 400 million dollars is expected from World Bank for the budget in 2025 and 300 million dollars from the Asian Development Bank, he said.

Keheliya and 3 others further remanded; first suspect referred to psychiatric inspection
Aug 29 (AD) Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and 3 other suspects, implicated in the alleged importation of substandard human immunoglobulin vials, have been further remanded until Sept 11. The order was issued after the defendants were produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today.
