The Grand Mosque said the first moon of Zul Haj was sighted on February 2 and therefore the festival should be celebrated on February 12, the tenth day of the Muslim month Zul Haj. The decision was taken at a conference of Muslim religious leaders and officials from the Ministry of Muslim Affairs.
