The United States has granted office equipment including computers worth around 10 million rupees to streamline the functions of courts in the northeast.
The Charge D'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka James F. Entwistle handed over the computers to prime ministers secretary Bradman Weerkoon.
This equipment will be supplied to 13 courts in the districts of Jaffna, Vavuniya, Mannar, Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Ampara. The donation included 19 computers, fax machines, photo copiers and power generators.
