Aug 29 (InfoLanka) Matale District PA Parliamentarian Janaka Bandara Tennakoon who was remanded while undergoing treatment at the Nawaloka Hospital in Colombo on a warrant issued by the Dambulla Magistrate was yesterday released on a security bail of Rs. 100,000 by Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Sarath Chandrasiri Karunaratne.
The Magistrate ordered bail after observing the health condition of the Parliamentarian in the morning yesterday. A team of police officers from Dambulla police station and officers of the Fort Magistrate Courts police unit accompanied the Fort Magistrate.
Dambulla Magistrate K.A.J. Saliya Perera on Monday ordered the Dambulla police to consult the Colombo Fort Magistrate for further steps as he was unable to examine the health condition of Mr. Tennakoon personally.
