The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has reported Rs. 80.1 billion in turnover for the year ended December 31, 2002 up from the Rs. 74.35 billion turnover for the corresponding period a year ago while the Gross Profit for the year under review was Rs. 12.9 billion, up from the Rs. 11.6 billion the previous year, states the audited accounts of the Corporation by PriceWaterHouseCoopers.
The post tax profits of the Corporation for the period under review was Rs. 9.7 billion over the Rs. 1.5 billion the previous year.
In 2001, during teh change of governments, the CPC had an overdraft of nearly 21 billion rupees to the state banks.
