The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be bringing a group of 18 British companies to Sri Lanka from November 17 to 21, the British High Commission said yesterday.
It said that the size of the mission, and the number of companies who are new to the market, represent a significant level of interest in doing business in Sri Lanka.
The companies on the mission represent a range of sectors and products. The group represents a very diverse background all covering different sectors of the market place. These companies include chartered accountants, lawyers, land developers, consultants and designers to the construction industry, management of investment funds, including private client and institutional portfolios and estate and tax planning.
Other products represented include project consultants, agricultural equipment suppliers, security products, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, web design and construction (Internet), scientific and laboratory equipment suppliers, further educational courses for medical doctors, textile dyers and finished products, pupils and older students educational prospects, movement of waste paper, international shipping engineering solutions for data logging and sports gear suppliers including cricket.
The mission participants have a range of objectives including looking for local representatives, qualified distributors or agents. Some will be researching the market for the first time, others will be building on existing contacts and all will be looking to make new contacts.
