Feb 15 (IL) The Power and Energy Minister yesterday denied allegations against him by CEB and CEYPETCO officials who claimed that he was misusing his portfolio.
CEB and CEYPETCO officials alleged that Minister Susil Premajayantha was using several luxury and semi-luxury vehicles belonging to these institutions, apart from his official vehicle.
However Minister Premajayantha when contacted by refuted these allegations and claimed that the Ministry had not given him a vehicle and that he was using three vehicles belonging to the CEB and CEYPETCO.
"There are two vehicles of the Ministry, but they are both in the garage and not in a usable condition. All Ministers in the past have been using two vehicles each from these two institutions, but I have only three vehicles, one from the CEB and two from CEYPETCO," he said.
