Pakistan Air Force Chief of Staff here next week

Mar 3 (IL) Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat will arrive here on a four day-visit starting March 8.

The Pakistan Air Chief, who is accompanied by three senior air force officials is here on an invitation of Air Force Chief Donald Perera, Air Force sources said yesterday.

Air Marshal Sadaat is expected to meet President Chandrika Kumaratunga, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, Deputy Defence Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake, Chief of Defence Staff Daya Sandagiri, Air Force Commander Donald Perera and Army Commander Shantha Kottegoda during his stay in Sri Lanka.

His itinerary will include visits to several places of Buddhist worship in the country.

Air Chief Marshal Saadat joined the Pakistan Air Force in 1968.

He was responsible for coordinating the US-led 'Operation Enduring Freedom' operation as well as tasks pertaining to Operation Sentinel, when he was serving as Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) of the Pakistan Air Force.

In March 2003, he was appointed the Commander of the Pakistan Air Force.
