Protestors say Government failed to resume peace talks despite being in power for more than a year

Several hundreds of civilians along with Pro LTTE groups and organizations during a protest march in Puthukkudiyiruppu yesterday, demanded the United Peoples Freedom Alliance Government to immediately hand over an Interim Administration to the LTTE. The protestors had also given a memorandum to the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission emphasizing the need for the immediate establishment of the Interim Administration. The protestors also criticized the Government for failing to resume the stalled peace talks despite it being more than a year since they have been in power. The campaign was reportedly organized by pro LTTE groups/organizations. Several Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarians also took part at the protest rally, which was followed by a public meeting
