Rulang & Date Aluwa
a snack or dessert. 2 cups rulang (cream of wheat/soji) Soak the dates in warm water for 1/2 hour. Chop them coarsely. Roast the rulang in a medium pan till golden brown. Add the butter and stir. Next add the vanilla, sugar, cashews and dates. Stir well. Lower the heat and add the milk, cook for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Spoon to a flat dish and flatten it. Cut into squares and serve cold. Serves 8
