Six Lankan ferry operators arrested |
Feb 4 (CO) Navy today arrested six Sri Lankan nationals off Rameswaram coast for ferrying refugees without proper documents. According to police officials here, three operators were nabbed while returning after dropping 36 refugees at the Dhanushkodi coast and the other three were arrested along with 17 refugees off Rameswaram coast.

Feb 4 (GN) The Sri Lankan Government will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UAE to streamline exports of manpower to the UAE. Mohammad Nabavi Junaid, Sri Lankan Ambassador, said UAE Labour Minister Dr Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi will sign the MoU this month during an official visit to Colombo.
