Sampath Bank raises $ 100 m to boost capital, biz
Mar 22 (FT) Sampath Bank will take receipt of $ 100 million later this week to boost its capital via a syndicated loan drawing strength from its Balance Sheet as well as encouragement from the Govt for private sector to tap foreign sources of funding. Keells Super absorbs VAT together with suppliers

Upper Kothmale reservoir emptied

Mar 22 (Hindu) An anti-Sri Lanka protest by students of Pachaiyappa’s College turned violent on Thursday, when police officers allegedly resorted to lathi charge.
