The Pied Piper of Polonnaruwa |
Aug 27 (NS) Everyone knows the story of the Pied Piper. The one who came to the town of Hamlin, that is. He came to get rid of the rats and he did so by luring them out of every rat hole in that unhappy town. This time it was the children that followed. They were never heard of again.

Elections and Selections |
Aug 27 (Island) Okay, okay, many say it’s a free and fair election! But, is there anything free in this country? This is a country where, not so long ago, one could walk in to any house or shop and ask for a glass of water to quench one’s thirst. But, not today. The shopkeeper will ask you to buy a bottle of water and the house owner will ask you to go to the shop and buy one. You pay. Nothing is free. Not even water.
