Apr 25 (ITN) Police have arrested the main suspect of the 14 billion apparel theft in Anuradhapura. Hidhogama Police recently found a stock of apparels valuing 14 billion rupees stolen from a garment factory at Nelum-bewa area in Anuradhapura. These apparels are produced only to be sold overseas. Police said that the stock of apparels were found from a garment factory in the area. Police had earlier arrested a woman and two suspects in connection with the theft.

Sri Lanka emergency power request shot down by regulator |
Apr 25 (EN) SL's power regulator has denied a request by CEB to procure 55 MegaWatts of emergency power. Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) told the CEB that its request to buy 55 MW of emergency power was not in line with the approval given by Cabinet and was not in line with its least cost power generation expansion plan.
