CEB revenue hits Rs. 5.5 b shortfall
Oct 4 (FT) If drought conditions persist the CEB would have to deal with a revenue shortage of Rs. 5.5 b, which if the govt does not pass onto the consumer, could exacerbate already strained public finances. Lotteries board says fake tickets not ours

Govt refuses to allow power price hike
Oct 4 (SL) The Govt has taken a strong stance not to increase the price of electricity units despite recommendations from the CEB. Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayaka has instructed that tariff hike of CEB should not be allowed and in the view that CEB should improve its efficiency to reduce the gap between revenue and expenditure. Price reductions: GMOA wants generic names of drugs gazetted
