Over 3,000 arrested in special raid

Sep 2 (DM) A total of 3,265 persons were arrested in a 4-hour special operation conducted islandwide yesterday morning. Accordingly, 401 persons were arrested for drunk driving while 882 were arrested in relation to the possession of heroin or other illegal narcotics. Police arrested 1,080 warranted suspects and 767 suspects in connection with other criminal offences during the raid.
