Sep 26 (SLN) 1243.3kg of Beedi leaves wrapped in 34 parcels were recovered by the Navy during patrols carried out in Southbar and Oluthuduwai areas in Mannar on 25th Sept. Sectoral Oversight Committee gets cracking on payment of royalties to artistes

Sep 26 (Island) Parliament’s Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education and Human Resources Development has proposed to implement royalty payment to artistes at the rate of Rs. 50 per song for broadcasting and Rs. 125 per song for telecast.
