Jun 18 (CT) Colombo High Court Judge, Pradeepa Hettiarachchi yesterday, convicted a 60-year-old woman on charges of attempting to smuggle 3.6 grams of heroin to the Welikada Prison seven years ago, and sentenced her to life imprisonment. Hotels, travel agencies to get 4% loan on EPF records: Tourism Authority

Jun 18 (EN) Tourism Development Authority said a loan at 4% interest would be given to hotels and travel agencies and restaurants registered under it to pay salaries for 144,000 persons for the next six months. Soil degradation has affected one third of Lanka’s land mass
