Police search for missing teenage girl
Jul 25 (DM) The Negombo Police are carrying out investigations to locate a 17-year-old girl who had gone missing since June 17 this year. Police said the father of the girl had lodged a complaint with the Negombo Police over the disappearance of his daughter. Navy apprehends 02 poaching trawlers
Jul 25 (SLN) The Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard conducted a special operation to chase away Indian poaching trawlers from Sri Lankan waters in the dark hours of 24th July 2023. The operation led to the apprehension of 02 Indian trawlers with 09 Indian nationals poaching in Sri Lankan waters off the Delft Island, Jaffna. Over 55,000 dengue cases reported so far in 2023
Jul 25 (AD) Over 55,000 dengue cases have been reported in SL so far this year, National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) reported. Accordingly, a total of 55,049 cases have been reported as of 25 July 2023, while the total number of deaths reported stands at 36, as per NDCU statistics. Meanwhile, 52 areas across SL have been identified as high-risk areas for dengue, with the highest number of cases having been reported from Gamapaha, where 11,929 cases have been detected thus far.
