Nov 25 (CT) Nine police officers attached to the Maturata Police Station who had been deployed for duty during the CHOGM, had been suspended, consequent to the allegation that they had shouted obscenities when they had found the dinner packets issued to them had gone stale, police sources said. The officers were suspended for their unbecoming conduct on the night of 13 November, when they had been given their dinner packets which they had found to be stale.

Nov 25 (LBO) Profits at Sri Lanka Ports Authority was up sharply in the first nine months of the year, helped by a weaker Japanese Yen and higher container volumes, a finance ministry report said.
