Oct 18 (Island) The price increase effected by Milco is not illegal, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Internal Trade says Highland milk powder price was increased from Rs. 310 to Rs. 325 per 400 g pack on Wednesday. All brands of 400 gram milk powder were authorised to be sold at Rs. 325 per pack and 1 kg packs at Rs. 810 each by the govt gazette of May 4, 2012. Extended jail term if inmates commit sex offences |

Leatherback turtle washes ashore |
Oct 18 (ST) A leatherback turtle was found today washed ashore on the Kosgoda, Paratharayaka Beach. The Head of the Kosgoda Turtle Conservation Project, Chandrasiri Abrew speaking to a local television station was quoted as saying the turtle died due to some sort of human interference.
