Oct 27 (PTI) India would take up the issue of Indian fishermen languishing in Sri Lankan jails during the visit of defence secretary of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa to New Delhi later this week, Union minister of state in the PMO V Narayanasamy said today. Stray dogs removed from E03 |
Oct 28 (DM) Stray dogs that were loitering along the Colombo-Katunayake Highway had been caught and taken away prior to its opening, an animal organization said today. Animal Lovers Zone director, Dr. Nuwan Kumarasinghe said over 100 dogs were caught and taken away from the highway before the opening ceremony. He said nets were used to catch them so as not to harm the animals. The use of nets is said to be one of the methods of capturing dogs that harms them the least.
