2 Govt-owned plantations handover profits to treasury

Aug 20 (LP) Two govt-owned Sri Lankan plantation companies handed over their profits in 2013 to the Treasury at a function held at Temple Trees on Monday. Representatives of the two plantation companies - Chilaw Plantations in Puttalam and Kurunegala Plantations in Kurunegala handed over the checks to President Rajapaksa, who is also the Finance Minister. Aug 20 (Island) Mirihana Police Special Crime Prevention Unit officials nabbed a person with a tiny pistol while he was in a hotel at Galvana in Mulleriyawa on Sunday.
