Spike in rat fever

June 16 (Island) Epidemiology Unit (EU) yesterday revealed that 2,003 cases of leptospirosis better known as rat fever had been reported from January to the beginning of this week. The EU said that from January to May 31st this year 1,906 cases had been reported. Last year and in 2014 the numbers reported during the corresponding periods were 1,764 and 1,044 respectively. Countrywide bus strike from July 4 if bus fares not revised
