Online program to register fishing vessels biennially from 2018 |
Mar 4 (GDI) Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed Fisheries Dept to make arrangements to implement an online program to register fishing vessels from 2018. Fishing vessels at present are registered annually and it has become a huge inconvenience to fishermen. They have to travel all the way to Colombo from the hinterlands such as Jaffna, Batti, Ampara & Mannar to get their fishing vessels registered. Two Navy personnel arrested over abduction of 11 youths are remanded |
Mar 4 (ITN) The two officers of the Navy apprehended with respect to the abduction of 11 youth in the year 2008 have been remanded until the 13th of this month. Mar 4 (AD) At least 41 passengers were wounded following an accident involving two buses and a lorry near the Mahagalkadawala junction on the Anuradhapura-Padeniya main road.
