Madras high court permits convict Nalini to argue her case in person

Railways to be declared an Essential Service; retired officials to be recruited
Jun 26 (AD) A Gazette notification will be issued declaring SL Railways as an Essential Service, according to State Minister Asoka Abeysinghe. Railway trade unions had launched a two-day strike action last week over wage discrepancies, crippling nearly all train services across the island. Video: 27 boats gutted in fire at fishery harbour in Hungama

World Bank approves USD 310 mn loan for climate resilience
