35 SL players test negative for Covid-19
Feb 12 (DM) 35 national cricketers subject to PCR tests on Wednesday, tested COVID-19 negative along with the coaching staff, net bowlers and the HPC staff. The players were part of the squad preparing to take part in the forthcoming Tour of the West Indies. However, training was halted last week following Head Coach Micky Arthur and SL opener Lahiru Thirimanne tested COVID-19 Positive. Feb 12 (EN) Sri Lanka’s gross official reserves were at US$ 4.8 billion in by end Jan 2021 Central Bank Governor W D Lakshman said and efforts were underway to boost them. Video: Over Rs. 16 billion allocated to purchase paddy for Maha Season
Feb 12 (AD) The govt will purchase 300,000 metric tons of paddy harvest from the farmers through the Paddy Marketing Board (PMB), says the Ministry of Finance. Purchasing paddy harvest for the Maha Season of 2020-2021 is currently underway, the ministry said yesterday. The Treasury has allocated more than Rs 16 billion for this purpose, the statement read further. Finance Ministry said the sum paid for Samba and Kiri Samba paddy will be increased by Rs. 2 per kilo from this season.

Feb 12 (SLC) Sri Lanka Cricket today launched the 2 KM Run Fitness Test for the National Players to ascertain their fitness levels. Accordingly, 32 of the players out of a 36 member provisional squad training for the Tour of West Indies, which is under discussion, participated in the test, which was conducted at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
