June 15 (DN) Agriculture Development and Agrarian Service Minister Maithripala Sirisena yesterday said the Government will bring in amendments to the existing Act pertaining to the reclamation of paddy lands, with provisions to confiscate properties of those who have illegally reclaimed paddy lands. “I hope to bring amendments to the Act pertaining to the reclaiming of paddy lands in Parliament within the next two months,” the Minister said.

Abductions: UNP tells Muslim ministers to quit |
June 15 (DM) UNP Muslim MPs yesterday came out hard on the government over the abduction of Muslim businessmen and vowed to take to the streets and also take the issue up with the diplomats of Muslim countries.
