Lanka re-opens police station in former Tiger territory

June 26 (PTI) Sri Lanka today reopened its police station in Vavunathivu area of Batticaloa district which was held by Tamil Tiger rebels for over 15 years, officials said. Bringing relief to Vaharai

June 26 (AT) Seventeen Sinhalese men accused of fronting for the LTTE were further remanded by the Additional Magistrate Colombo on June 25. More Tigers surrender to security forces

June 26 (LNP) Two more cadres of the LTTE surrendered to the security forces on Sunday at Valachchanai, said Media Center for National Security (MCNS). Health Ministry buries aid

June 26 (LNP) The government returned more than two billion rupees worth of underutilized foreign aid given to the Health Ministry during the past three years, the Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts has revealed.
