Only 40,000 heritage sites protected

May 7 (SL) Only 40,000 of the 250,000 heritage sites in Sri Lanka are protected, National Heritage Minister Dr. Jagath Balasuriya said. He that as a result treasure hunting has seen a steep rise in recent times.
