Former Media Minister granted bail |
May 21 (Island) Colombo Chief Magistrate, yesterday granted bail to former Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, former Director General Chandrapala Liyanage and former Chairman Wimalasena Rupasinghe of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation. They were produced in courts for purchasing a stock of galvanized pipes and causing a loss of Rs. 900,000 to Rupavahini. May 21 (CG) The Jaffna Magistrate today remanded 130 people till June 3 over the violence which erupted in Jaffna yesterday. The police had arrested the people following violent protests in Jaffna and also seized 60 motorbikes, 43 bicycles and 5 three-wheelers.
