65% children, 90% adults afflicted with gum disease

May 26 (Island) Health and Indigenous Medicine Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne said around 65% of children in the ages of between 5 and 6 years and about 90% of adults between the ages of 34 and 44 were suffering from gingivitis (a type of gum disease) in Sri Lanka. Govt agrees to pay Rs. 1,000 monthly allowance to health sector employees
