July 23 (DM) The Customs Revenue Task Force discovered 27,000 kilogrammes of fraudulently imported Turmeric from India in two containers, Customs Spokesman Leslie Gamini said. ”The consignment had been declared as rice, defrauding Rs. 5.6 million of tax revenue,” he said. “The 27000 kilogrammes of Turmeric consignment is valued at about Rs.9.5 million and the total value of the goods were Rs.10.5 million. Attempt to mislead Rathupaswala residents |
