Rs.6 mn fraud: CID arrests pension officer |
Oct 10 (DM) CID has arrested the Kegalle Pradeshiya Sabha Pensions Officer in connection with some Rs.6.3 million fraud. Investigations had revealed that the suspect identified as Neil Jayasinghe of Pilimathalawa had fraudulently credited the money allocated for pensioners to his personal account. The arrest was carried out after several complaints were received by the CID. The investigators found that Jaysinghe’s account showed a credit balance of Rs.6.38 million.
