Death toll reaches 92 as troops recover more bodies |
May 23 (Xinhua) Rescue troops on Monday recovered at least seven more bodies from a landslide site in Kegalle district bringing the total death toll to 92, the Disaster Management Center said. Man who threatened President, PM on FB pleads guilty |

Sri Lanka inflation accelerates 4.3% in April |
May 23 (EN) Consumer prices nation-wide rose 4.3% in April 2016 from a year ago, accelerating from 2.2% in March, its third straight monthly rise. On a month-on-month basis, the new National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), compiled using prices collected from all nine provinces with a base year of 2013, in April rose 1.5% after having fallen 0.7% in March. Floods expected to cost at least $1.5 billion |
