Private credit sharply up, money printing continues in March

May 30 (EN) Credit to private sector surged in March 2016 to Rs. 87.8 billion from Rs. 53.7 billion a year earlier, on the back of money printing over two months, but credit to state enterprises fell, official data showed. In March Rs. 33.3 billion was given to the central govt from the banking system but loans to state enterprises fell Rs. 11.5 billion to Rs. 514.9 billion. China to provide relief supplies to Sri Lanka
